How to Enjoy Your Life With Imagination

Life is a busy place with constant challenges that keep us so preoccupied many of us have little time for imagination. But without it our logical mind completely dominates our thoughts with little room to think big. We forget to imagine the possibilities. When all the dust settles do you enjoy your life? Think of a time in your life when you were truly happy. I remember as a little boy spending an entire summer staring at the stars pondering all the possibilities in my life. This invincible feeling began to fade as I grew older replacing imagination with logic, and practicalities.

I had to learn like everyone else to survive in a world filled with challenges. But as I grew older, and a little wiser I realized that you can’t accomplish much without imagination. Sometimes it’s easy to get so preoccupied we forget what makes us happy. The purpose here is to provide simple ways to enjoy your life with practical solutions using your imagination.

“All the breaks you need in life wait within your imagination; Imagination is the workshop of your mind, capable of turning mind energy into accomplishment and wealth.”  Napoleon Hill.

How imagination brings more happiness

When it comes to enjoying life there are few things more important than understanding what makes you happy. Everything flows naturally with more rhythm, and enthusiasm when you feel happier.

Enjoying our life should be one of our highest callings. We all know that everyday we face challenges, and there’s no magic pill to make them all go away. However there are ways to minimize some of them, and eliminate others altogether.

Our imagination can do wonders when we use it in our favor.  It can help us to visualize how it may feel once we experience a certain dream, or goal we want to achieve. Imagination can bring out new ideas, new innovations, and resources, that could never happen relying solely on logic. It can skyrocket your self image beyond your wildest dreams. And most importantly it can make life more fun, and enjoyable. The more you enjoy your life, the more happiness in every aspect of your life.

“Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere”.Albert Einstein.

Never stop dreaming

We are all born with an imagination from early on, but many of us lose it along the way. We stop dreaming. We follow our head knowledge without any heart knowledge. We learn to be logical, skeptical, and practical. Which are needed to a certain point, but they can also be unhealthy, unbalanced, and work against us.

The logical mind hates change, and will fight you around every corner to keep things as they are even though positive changes are desperately needed.

Without change we become stagnate. Without imagination we lose sight of hope, and push happiness off for another day. When we stop dreaming we lose focus on things that matter most.

Develop a desire for success

Developing a desire for success helps create the energy. and intensity needed to accomplish whatever you set out to do. This will increase your focus so you don’t lose sight of what you want to achieve. Your imagination is the gateway to success. Think about the things you want in your life, then imagine the benefits that will come once you’ve accomplish them. For example: How they will improve your lifestyle. How accomplishing them will free your schedule, so you have more family time, less stress, and more money to enjoy your life.

The reason many don’t enjoy their life is because they have no desire. Without desire life is meaningless. So instead take steps to develop a dream. Something with vision, purpose, and conviction. Something that causes you rise early with enthusiasm toward a definite goal.

For example it could be a business, more personal growth, or a certain relationship. Whatever hits your sweet spot just do it, and develop that inner desire to win so you enjoy your life with more reason behind your ambitions instead of going through the motions.

Motivate yourself into action

Whenever you feel drained, or depressed try using your imagination to spark some motivation. For example think about your bills being paid off, your home is clean, and your on your way to the beach. Sounds like wishful thinking…. Ok I agree, but you’ll be amazed how a few of these simple exercises can motivate that inner drive to start getting things done. Sometimes all it takes is one small action to create momentum, and avoid unproductive habits.

Stay Motivated: Most of us can muster up something that motivates us for a day, or maybe a week, but how many can stay motivated all year ? Motivation is that inward driving force that pushes you to reach higher in your life. You can find an endless supply of websites, books, seminars, and coaches all teaching basically three principles to get motivated.

  • Be Positive
  • Just do it
  • Never give up

This is great advice, but it’s not quite that easy. There’s a little more to it then catchy phrases. Without imagination you will not get very far. When you have all of these working together systematically inside of you…… You’ll become unstoppable. You will naturally be at your best creating results that make you very successful. Let’s face it ….When we experience positive results we think better, work better, and feel better which creates the environment to enjoy your life more.

How to Know Yourself Better & Recreate Your Life Story

One of the most effective ways to go a new direction, and recreate your life story is to get to know yourself better. Creating a positive life usually only happens the moment we choose to take a hard look inside ourselves for answers. Many of us go through life being told who we are from every source imaginable, directly and indirectly. We enter this world with no concept of who we are or why were here.

Soon afterwards our life becomes a living story that reflects how we feel about ourselves, and others. We become a living open book to the outside world whether we like it or not. People read the headlines every day. Our character speaks volumes about who we are inwardly. The outside world is only a self reflection of the inward heart.

Research has shown that most of us simply don’t like ourselves not to mention realize our inner potential. We are uniquely created with unimaginable power, and potential. We can rewrite our life story at any time, and create any life we envision. Yet for many of us we never get to experience that awaking moment when everything changes for the better. To experience that driving force that motivates us inwardly to get up each day with a feeling of expectation. To gain a deeper understanding of ourselves with more clarity, and surety. Do you want more positive things to happen in your daily life? The more you get to know yourself the easier it is to have success in whatever you do.

Get to know yourself better internally

Getting to know yourself better at a deeper level is not what most average people experience. In fact quite opposite. Without a deeper understanding of who you are it’s easy to lose sight of your intention, purpose, and direction. To accept mediocrity without any expectation that things can get better. Under this frame of mind we can easily find ourselves feeling out of place in most social circles unable to relate, or connect with other people.

Please receive my free eBook to you personally  the Art of Personal Development which shares the habits, routines, and strategies of highly successful people. The tips & techniques illustrated can literally change your life. Read my personal story on the about page.

When you get to know yourself better internally it will save you a lifetime of disappointments.  Everything you think, know, and believe is a mirrored reflection of how you think about yourself. We are all curious how people see us, and it can be both healthy, and unhealthy. If you don’t like your life story then change it. How? Despite your circumstance it’s never too late to start over, and recreate your life story.

How outside influence can make you better

Outside influence is usually not the best place to find out more about ourselves, or even what others might think about us, but we do need a circle of friends who pull no punches. They tell us exactly what we don’t want to hear. These are generally those who know us best, and see through our charm, our weakness, or anything other flaws we may have with a critical eye. These people are actually necessary because they help sharpen our people skills, but they don’t define us, or truly know us deep down inwardly. Only you have the power to truly get to know yourself better, and the more you do, the more success you’ll gain in life.

know yourself better

know yourself better by defining who you are

Whenever you know yourself better inwardly outside noise will have less impact on your emotional state. Before accepting constructive criticism as fact, always consider the source. For example: is this coming from coworkers who don’t know you personally, or from family and friends who care with good intentions, but don’t understand a new direction you’re taking. This is why it’s so important to know yourself better intimately so you’re not swayed by empty words that mislead, or misrepresent who you are as a person. Most of us know exactly what that feels like.

What most people think about you

Believe me ….. what most people think about you is not near as important as what you think about yourself. Make it a point to know your self-identity, and be wise enough to accept constructive criticism even if you feel it’s unfair. But there is a limit to this. Only you have the capacity to know your identity better than anyone else.

Imagine if your whole life experience was what others thought about you? Yet for many people this is exactly what leads to a confused life with no purpose, or direction. Knowing your identity will give you inner strength, and insight to every challenge you’ll ever face.

“People often say that this or that person has not yet found himself. But the self is not something one finds, it is something one creates. Basically we are all looking for someone who knows who we are and will break it to us gently”. Robert Brault.

Developing a deeper understanding of yourself

Developing a deeper understanding of yourself is critical in the growing stages of defining yourself, and creating a better life. Whenever you define who you are others around may not always like it, or accept it. Living in your own skin will cause a shift in the way others perceive and treat you, especially those who have dominated over you in the past. It will be much harder to be controlled when you are defined, and confident.

The more in tune you are inwardly the less outer influence will have dominion over your life. At this point your life story is now being shaped but so is your wisdom. Early influences can have lasting effects, but a definite purpose, with determination can overcome any challenge, and shape our destiny.

Knowing your inner call

We must learn to listen to that inner call that vibrates truth in every cell of our body. That gut feeling that assures us we’re doing the right thing regardless of how it may seem to the outside world. It’s easy to define ourselves when everything feels perfect, but what about when it’s not? What about when everything around us is literally falling apart? That’s when you’re actually defining who you are, and building strength…. It’s like your character is being crushed, pressurized like a diamond before its beauty is revealed. This is the moment when life takes on a whole new shape, as you endeavor to get to know yourself better with a deeper level of understanding.

Living life on purpose

Don’t be tossed like a leaf in the wind without reason and purpose. If you spend your life trying to please everybody you’ll never experience happiness, or have the capacity to define yourself as a human being.

When you look inside yourself what do you see? Most people in general don’t know who they are themselves, so can they tell you who you are? Only you can answer that. There are several problems when you look to other people for an opinion about yourself. We live in a materialistic world, and people naturally try to define you based on your possessions, and outward appearance. (Examples)

  • Your career: the first thing many people want to know about you is your business, or career. Basically how much your worth.
  • Your appearance: Try putting on some old wrinkled clothes, and going into public to see if people treat you the same.
  • Where you live: Unfortunately people may determine your worth by where you live.
  • The car you drive: if you’re driving an old beat up car you’re probably not going to be very popular.
  • Your popularity: Many of us are defined in social circles by how popular we are.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it does put things into perspective.

Recreate your life story

Basically we are conditioned to keep up with the Jones. Ask yourself this? Are you some kind of robotic cookie cutter humanoid living on a planet, or created by God with unique attributes, and extraordinary potential. I believe the latter is much more accurate. And his love for each of us has no end. You can recreate your story, and reclaim your life passion with confidence.

No person on earth has the power, or insight to define who you are. The pen that writes your story is in your own hand, and knowing who holds it may take a lifetime. These are only the basics to get to know yourself better, and rewrite your legacy, your life story, and your ultimate destiny.

Final thoughts

Hopefully these tips & techniques will add value on your personal journey toward a better life. We should always live life on purpose, and find out what puts energy in our bones. This is what makes you get up each day excited to be alive. Start your day with purpose, and intention in everything you do. Develop a dream, and everything around you will have new meaning.

Doing this will develop more confidence as you grow, and get to know yourself better. Soon you’ll be well on your way to living a dream with intention, purpose, and direction as your life story unfolds.

7 Ways to Condition Your Life For Success

Success does not usually happen by chance, or with some random string of luck. We must take certain steps that condition us for more abundance. Without a plan we can easily find ourselves stuck in life. The financial system is broke, and those who don’t adapt to news ways of making money will probably never experience financial success.

The irony is that it’s not doom, and gloom for those who learn. Some of us have lost our desire to win in life. That’s not even the worst part. When we begin to lower our expectations, and settle for a life of mediocrity we never discover our full potential. This happens more often than we like to admit.

Yet deep down most of us still want to achieve more in our lives. That small inner voice from within speaks volumes to the core of our being saying ……What are you doing with your life…..  The voice of truth who reminds us who we are, and what we are capable of. And the truth is that your future can be brighter than you ever imagined possible. Here’s 7 ways that can help condition your life for success.

1. Avoid information overload

Most of the information we gather today is useless. In fact you must avoid information overload at all cost if you’re going to keep your sanity. There are two kinds of knowledge. One that is useful, and another that is useless.

Learn to sift through what’s important, and spit out what’s not. In other words keep your eye on the big picture without getting bogged down with minor details. Take some time out …… Step back….. And think about what you want to achieve. Then start moving in that direction one step at a time.

“We are drowning in information, but starving for wisdom.” Tony Robbins

2. Get organized

When we remove the clutter in our life we think better, feel better, and perform better. Putting more organization into our daily lives helps condition us for success. The more organized we are the more self-confident we become. As our confidence grows our energy levels increase.

Living organized is not just about cleaning everything around you. You probably know people who can only keep a clean house a few hours before everything’s a mess again. Why? Because organization is a lifestyle.

If we don’t clean up as we go along we accumulate a mess. We should always make it a point to live our life in a clean environment. More organization improves our mood, and our emotional state. It also saves time, and makes our lives much more productive.

For every minute spent organizing, an hour is earned. Benjamin Franklin

3. Stop dwelling on the past

The only power we have is NOW. We can decide at any moment that our story is not going to end like this. Dwelling on the past drains your energy, and keeps you in a powerless state. Successful people know that our emotions drive everything.

When we dwell on the past our brain is less resourceful. We have less ability to make clear decisions. For successful better results we must live in the moment. Life is a miracle in motion. The past is gone, and the future is yet to come. The only power we have to make positive changes is now. When you do it will energize your projects, your business, your relationships, and your entire life.

The past cannot be changed. The future is yet in your power. Unknown

4. Go a new direction

We are taught to never give up, or quit something we started, but sometimes continuing down the same path is not smart. Over time it usually becomes more, and more clear when we’re going the wrong direction. Never allow anyone to try, and mold you into something you’re not. It will only lead to a life of misery.

Decide exactly what you want your life to look like then put one foot in front of the other to make it happen. One simple step forward may be just enough to put in motion a better life with new beginnings, and a new direction.

I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach my destination.  Jimmy Dean

5. Develop a vision for complete success

Visualize yourself having complete success. When a vision is born inside us it produces hope, and hope produces desire, and desire produces a dream, and a dream produces energy, and energy produces action, and action produces results. It’s what makes dreams come true.

To every action there’s a reaction in the universe, Without a vision our life becomes repetitious, and meaningless with nothing to hope for. We are not created to live in a defeated state of mindlessness. We are designed to win. And once we know what’s important we can start developing a vision for success.

Whatever that idea lifestyle looks like, we have to take action and set some goals in place to make it a reality. To have complete success visualize in detail your vision then act on it at once.

Visualize this thing that you want, see it, feel it, believe in it. Make your mental blue print, and begin to build. Robert Collier

6. Condition your life for positive change

Everything around us is constantly changing including our mind, body, likes, dislikes, and habits. All these and more… are in cycles of change. For example our family, friends, relationships, and careers are all changing around us creating new challenges and opportunities as we evolve and grow together.

We all have unique areas to change in life, but the reasons vary! For many of us it’s time to start a new business, make new friends, get into a new relationship, or out of an old one. Usually it’s your intuition that lets you know when you need to condition your life for success, or positive change.

Since we cannot stop things from changing we should learn to embrace it. We should become more adaptive, flexible, and resourceful. After all change is a part of life so since we can’t change it we should embrace it, let it go, and let whatever happens happen.

Change your thoughts and you change your world. Norman Vincent Peale

7. Smell the coffee along the way

Science has proven that when we don’t take time out in life we become less productive, more susceptible to depression, anxiety, and illnesses. We simply need to stop, and smell the coffee along the way. Don’t get so preoccupied that you lose sight of who you are, and what that dream looks like in your life.

Whenever we lose sight of why we do what we do it’s probably time to make changes. Or if we get so preoccupied in our work that we lose interest in people some changes are needed.

Every moment of life is a gift from God, and if we never enjoy small moments, we lose sight of the most important things that life has to offer. We can literally become so robotic, and repetitious that we lose our humanity.

Yes we need to work hard to move us toward our dreams, but let us never forget why we’re doing it in the first place. All seven of these tips, and techniques will help condition your life for success in everything you do.

We want to do a lot of stuff; we’re not in great shape. We didn’t get a good night’s sleep. We’re a little depressed. Coffee solves all these problems in one delightful little cup. Jerry Seinfeld

4 Ways to Live Happier With No Strings Attached

How would it feel if you could live happier without more headaches, and complications in life? To manage time more efficiently enabling success in everything you set your mind on doing. For most of us it’s not as complicated as we make it. It is more of a mind-set than some magic formula that will somehow make all our problems go away.

The way we think determines our life, and everything else in-between. If you don’t like your life you can change it at any moment you decide enough is enough. I’m going to shake off my misery, my past, my shame. my regrets, my disappointments, and start a new day with more hope, more gratitude, and more happiness.

Choosing to live happier

From this day forward I choose to live happier regardless of my circumstances. That’s what I mean when I say to change your mind-set. This new way of thinking will begin to heal past pains, and bring in fresh emotions that you have not felt in a long time. It may take some time, but if you have any desire to live happier never give up on yourself, or others. In the darkest moments in life remember ….. Joy comes in the morning ,,,,, gladness will have a new meaning in your heart once you’ve came thus far. Here are 4 uncomplicated ways to live a happier, and a more meaningful life.

ACCEPT WHAT YOU HAVE

Research shows that happy people have modest levels of expectation and aspirations — they want what they can get — while unhappy people never seem to get what they want. They also know how to avoid disappointments and how to generate pleasant surprises. This is because they strive for realistic goals and are happy with their lot. As Dr Jose de Jesus Garcia Vega, of the University of Monterrey, Mexico, confirms, we must accept things as they come.

‘We spend a lot of time complaining about the things that happen to us, but this is a waste of time and effort,’ he says. ‘To be happy, we need to enjoy what we have.’

ENJOY WHAT YOU DO

Happy people do what they enjoy and enjoy what they do — and don’t do it for the money  or glory. There’s no point being stuck in a job you hate, surrounded by unfriendly colleagues just because the money is good — people forget that they are allowed to be happy at work, too. Many spend the best years of their lives trying to make money, sacrificing their health and family in the process, says Dr Garcia Vega. Later, they spend the same money they made working trying to recover their lost health and estranged family.

LIVE FOR TODAY

Don’t dwell on the past, on things that went wrong or previous failures. Similarly, don’t dream about an idealised future that doesn’t exist or worry about what hasn’t happened yet. Happy people live for the now; they have positive mind sets. If you can’t be happy today, what makes you think tomorrow will be different?

CHOOSE HAPPINESS

Don’t be afraid to step back and re-evaluate your goals. Imagine your life as a story that you can edit and revise as you  go along. This kind of flexible approach requires positive thinking and an open mind — you need to actively choose to be happy.

NICELAND

Iceland has the happiest population, while Britain came ninth in a world survey

‘You always have the freedom to choose the manner in which you wish to approach any given situation,’ says Dr Garcia Vega. This theory is backed up by Ingrida Geciene of Vilnius University, Lithuania, who researched the happiness of people in 31 European countries.

She found that ‘voluntarists’ (people who feel they have free choice and complete control over their life) were happier than fatalists (people who think little can be changed by personal intervention).
Luckily for us, Northern European countries contain more voluntarists while Latin European countries such as Spain and Italy have a higher percentage of fatalists.

Final thoughts

To live happier is more about choice than circumstances. We have the power within us to determine how our story will end. Most of us knows deep down that God holds our destiny. But our daily choices have a detrimental effect on our happiness.

We get to decide …. We determine whether we will live happier, or not. And regardless of our age, or challenges we can make positive changes that set us on a new coarse. Open news doors, with new friends ,new resources, and a new attitude fueled with new energy.

When you feel good about your-self you can find your blitz. You can also find out what makes you happy inside. And with all that you’ll finally realize that it’s up to you to live a happier life. Read more: 12 secrets of being happy using research from 100 experts

13 Ways to Motivate Yourself & Stay Motivated

The best techniques that you can use to motivate yourself usually have a shelf life. Motivation is the driving force needed to fuel any dream, but what happens when the fuel runs dry? What happens when the core of your being is being stretched, and tested beyond anything you’ve ever experienced. To stay motivated we need a plan of action with the motivation to make it a reality. The problem for most of us is not motivation, but sustainability Even highly successful people find themselves in a rut at certain times in their life.

How to motivate yourself

Who needs Tony Robbins when you can motivate yourself? Overcoming the emotional hurdle to get stuff done when you’d rather sit on the couch isn’t always easy. But unless calling in sick and waking up at noon have no consequences for you, it’s often a must.

For those of you who never procrastinate, distract yourself or drag your feet when you should be doing something important, this article isn’t for you. But for the rest of us humans, it’s good to have a library of motivational boosters to move us along.

motivate yourself

How to Avoid Motivation

The best way to motivate yourself is to organize your life so you don’t have to. If work is a constant battle for you, perhaps it is time to start thinking about a new job. The idea is that explicit motivational techniques should be a backup, not your regular routine.

Here are some other things to consider making work flow more naturally:

  • Passion. Do things you have a passion for. We all have to do things we don’t want to. But if life has become a chronic source of dull chores, you’ve got a big problem that needs fixing.
  • Habits. You can’t put everything on autopilot. But I’ve found putting a few core habits in place creates a structure for the day. Waking up at the same time, working at the same times and having a similar productive routine makes it easier to do the next day.
  • Flow. Flow is the state where your mind is completely focused on the task at hand. While there are many factors that go into producing this state, having the right challenge level is a big part. Find ways to tweak your tasks so they hover in that sweet spot between boredom and maddening frustration.

Motivation Tips

Despite your best efforts, passion, habits and a flow-producing environment can fail. In that case, it’s time to find whatever emotional pump-up you can use to get started. Here are a few:

  1. Go Back to “Why” – Focusing on a dull task doesn’t make it any more attractive. Zooming out and asking yourself why you are bothering in the first place will make it more appealing. If you can’t figure out why, then there’s a good chance you shouldn’t bother with it in the first place.
  2. Go for Five – Start working for five minutes. Often that little push will be enough to get you going.
  3. Move Around – Get your body moving as you would if you were extremely motivated to do something. This ‘faking it’ approach to motivation may seem silly or crude, but it works.
  4. Find the Next Step – It’s impossible to work on a project. All you can do is focus on the next immediate step. Fighting an amorphous blob of work will only cause procrastination. Chunk it up so that it becomes manageable.
  5. Find Your Itch – What is keeping you from working. Don’t let the itch continue without isolating it and removing the problem. Are you unmotivated because your tired, afraid, bored, restless or angry. Maybe it is because you aren’t sure you have time or delegated tasks haven’t been finished yet.
  6. Deconstruct Your Fears – I’m sure you don’t have a phobia about getting stuff done. But at the same time, hidden fears or anxieties can keep you from getting real work completed. Isolate the unknowns and make yourself confident you can handle the worst case scenario.
  7. Get a Partner – Find someone who will motivate you when you’re feeling lazy. I have a friend I go to the gym with. Besides spotting weight, having a friend can help motivate you to work hard when you’d normally quit.
  8. Kickstart Your Day – Plan out tomorrow. Get up early and place all the important things early in the morning. Building momentum early in the day can usually carry you forward far later.
  9. Read Books – Not just self-help or motivational books, but any book that has new ideas. New ideas get your mental gears turning and can build motivation. Learning new ideas puts your brain in motion, so it requires less time to speed up to your tasks.
  10. Get the Right Tools – Your environment can have a profound effect on your enthusiasm. Computers that are too slow, inefficient applications or a vehicle that breaks down constantly can kill your motivation. Building motivation is almost as important as avoiding the traps that can stop it.
  11. There are No Small Problems – The worst killer of motivation is facing a seemingly small problem that creates endless frustration. Reframe little problems that must be fixed as bigger ones, or they will kill any drive you have.
  12. Develop a Mantra – Find a few statements that focus your mind and motivate you. It doesn’t matter whether they are pulled from a tacky motivational poster, or just a few words to tell you what to do. If you aren’t sure where to start, a good personal mantra is, “Do it now!”
  13. Build on Success – Success creates success. When you’ve just won, it is easy to feel motivated about almost anything. Emotions tend not to be situation specific, so a small win, whether it is a compliment from a colleague or finishing two thirds of your tasks before noon can turn you into a juggernaut. There are many ways you can place small successes earlier on to spur motivation later. Structuring your to-do lists, placing straightforward tasks such as exercising early in the day or giving yourself an affirmation can do the trick.

Learn to motivate yourself without getting burned out. That’s the key to success in whatever you do. Staying motivated is an art that is not easily achieved. Some great techniques stem from a passionate desire deep down inside. You need to get emotionally connected to whatever it is you need in your life. For example if you need more money start dream building at once. Go do some window shopping, and imagine yourself buying anything you wanted. This takes practice, but over time you’ll feel a stronger connection to what you want in your life. When this happens a desire is born, and with desire comes motivation, and once you learn to motivate yourself the sky’s the limit to your success. See – Thirteen Tricks to Motivate Yourself
